Dr. H. Stander is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon with a rich academic background and extensive clinical experience. He embarked on his journey in medicine at Stellenbosch University, where he earned his B med Sc in 2000, followed by his MBChB in 2003. Dr. Stander’s commitment to excellence in Orthopaedic’s led him to achieve fellowship status with the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of South Africa (FC Orth SA) in 2012.

His career began in state practice as a medical officer in Port Elizabeth from 2004 to 2006, where he gained invaluable experience in diverse medical settings. Subsequently, he served as an Orthopaedic medical officer at GF Jooste Hospital and New Somerset Hospital in Cape Town from 2007 to 2009, honing his skills in orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Stander’s journey continued at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town from 2009 to 2012, where he further specialized in Orthopaedic surgery and solidified his expertise in the field. On April 1, 2013, he commenced his tenure at Greenacres Hospital, where he has since been a pivotal figure in providing exceptional orthopaedic care.

His professional interests encompass a wide array of specialties, including hip and knee reconstruction surgery, sports medicine focusing on lower limb surgery, robotic knee surgery, and trauma care. Dr. Stander’s dedication to advancing the field of orthopaedic is evident in his active involvement as a fellow of the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons and as a full member of the South African Orthopaedic Association (SAOA). He is also registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), underscoring his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of medical practice.
